  John Allen Trophy
  24th November 2010

Bradford finally won the 'John Allen Trophy' at Branwell House Thornton this year with Allan Vanston's film 'Pou du Fou'. Bradford haven't won this inter club challenge shield for several years and Allan is seen on the right with the trophy.

The evening was extremely well attended with around 40 guest visitors and there were seven individual club entries. Judging was by an independent judge who was asked to select the first three on entertainment value and each would receive a certificate in due course.

In third position was Harry Nicholls (Leeds Club) with his film 'One Hundred Years of Magic', a film about the history of the Magic Circle. In second position was Trevor Spencer (Huddersfield) with his film 'Moselle Experience', a holiday film about a cruise on the Moselle River and in first position was Allan Vanston (Bradford Movie Makers) with his film 'Pou du Fou'. This was a film about a huge theme park in south west France where the main feature revolves around a Roman settlement and ampitheatre with four abreast chariot racing and slaves fighting with lions. The film was the winner of the competition and was awarded the 'John Allen Trophy' along with a certificate.
