Star of the show was the the first solid-state HDV camcorder from Sony, the PMW-EX1 using SxS cards that we were able to put straight into a macbook for editing.
I had a brief chat with Alan Atkinson who was busy signing people up for the IAC and was impressed by Datavideo's chroma key demonstration, Hague's dolly that runs on plumbing pipes and the Sony HDV video walkman with 7" screen for less than £1K.

I also found a novel answer to music copyright problems in the form of the Limited Manufacture Licence from the mcps.

Monday, February 12th, 2007 - David Dalmour, one of our newest members passed away at the LGI today.
In a scene straight out of the twilight zone David first came to a club meeting clutching a can of 16mm film he wanted copying to DVD. Unbelievably we were copying old 16mm club films to HDV on that particular week (a very rare event) and we were able to copy it for him. David was very grateful and subsequently joined the club. He admired the member's productions and marvelled at what could be done today with soundtracks using a computer for editing. Only a few months ago he was having a clearout and was happily listening to his old tapes he had rediscovered. He gave me several reels of super8 films and an old projector and we talked about filming an interview about his life. Sadly this never came to fruition.
Evening Post article - 'Continental' cabaret star David dies at 81.
Scratch magazine article - Paying tribute to a DJ pioneer.
Funeral will be at 2.20pm on Friday 23rd February at Lawnswood.
